Stride Staked Atom (STATOM) is a token that is generated in return for staking ATOM on the Stride platform. Users who decide to stake their ATOM with Stride will receive STATOM, which can be exchanged for ATOM at a 1:1 ratio, given that the 21-day unbonding period has been met. The public testnet phase for Stride is currently ongoing, and it has already attracted over 100 validators. The goal of the Stride platform is to support staking ATOM for STATOM, and eventually expand to other zones, with each zone having its own token. The mainnet launch for Stride is expected to take place in July 2022.

Stride is a multichain liquid staking zone that operates on the Cosmos Blockchain. The platform allows users to stake IBC-compatible tokens and receive stTokens in exchange, which are redeemable for the original tokens at a 1:1 ratio. By staking their tokens through Stride, users can earn staking rewards while still retaining the liquidity of their tokens in the form of stTokens. This will provide users with more opportunities to participate in Cosmos DeFi and increase their yields.

Stride is supported by some of the leading validators and investors in the Cosmos ecosystem, such as Imperator, Everstake, 1Confirmation, Pantera, and North Island Ventures. The Stride Token is the governance token for the Stride Zone, giving its holders the power to vote on important matters, such as the distribution of staked tokens to validators, the addition of new validators, and protocol upgrades. The full specification for the Stride Token will be released soon, and tokens will be distributed to early adopters and testnet users upon the launch of the mainnet.
