What is Monsta Infinite?

Monsta Infinite (MONI) is a blockchain-based in-game currency used in a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) that combines monster battles and card games. The game offers an immersive, play-to-earn environment that allows players to earn real-world revenue while exploring the virtual world. Unlike other NFT games, Monsta Infinite offers unique solutions to address the challenges that gamers face in the virtual world.

Gameplay involves players building a team of creatures called MONSTAs and competing in card-based battles against other players or computer-controlled opponents. The game also offers an open-world feature, which allows gamers to develop a social network and participate in live events. Apart from MONI, the game also features another native currency, Stamen Tellus (STT), which is used for purchasing in-game assets.

MONI is a governance token that gives the holders an opportunity to vote on major decisions on the platform and profit through MONI stacking. The token is awarded to high-ranking players at the end of each season in player-versus-player (PvP) mode. On the other hand, STT is acquired through participating in battles, collecting dividends from land ownership and breeding, and selling the game characters - MONSTAs.

The game developers aim to popularize blockchain technology through gamification. The Monsta Infinite team currently consists of 11 professionals based in Malaysia and Singapore, who are experienced in the implementation of decentralized solutions, software development, and gaming.

One unique feature of Monsta Infinite is the incorporation of the Elo rating system, which pairs game battle opponents in accordance with their rank, recent match results, skill level, and possessed attributes. This system enables players to fight in their own "weight class," creating a healthy competitive environment for gamers of different levels of experience.

The game also supports the mechanism of augmentation for game character's body parts, which implies obtaining a new skill card for the upgraded MONSTA. To enhance a character, the player has to sacrifice one of the other MONSTAs in the team. This approach enables developers to control the population of the mythical species and maintain the liquidity of the asset.

To combat dishonest practices, Monsta Infinite integrates anti-bot mechanics into the game. The match-three puzzles, a mini-game offered to players between the battle rounds, serve as a natural form of captcha-like algorithm protecting the community from malicious users.

According to the roadmap posted on the Monsta Infinite official website, MONI first went on sale in September 2021, and the game's public launch is scheduled for the first quarter of 2022.

In conclusion, Monsta Infinite offers an immersive gaming experience that enables players to earn real-world revenue while exploring the virtual world. The game's unique solutions address the challenges that gamers face in the virtual world, making it enjoyable for players of different levels of experience. With the incorporation of blockchain technology, Monsta Infinite is set to transform the gaming industry and popularize blockchain technology through gamification.
