What is Mochi Inu?
Mochi Protocol is a decentralized stablecoin platform that operates across various blockchains. It is a self-governed platform that offers collateral-backed stable currency, supported by a diverse range of crypto assets, including long-tail and yield-bearing assets. The platform provides an opportunity for users to mint the USDM stablecoin, using listed collateral assets, with governance-free listing and condition-based stable currency minting capabilities.
The protocol leverages algorithmically defined collateral-specific vault parameters, including collateral factor, liquidation factor, credit cap, and stability fees, to optimize capital efficiency and minimize the risk of a shortfall. These parameters are updated dynamically based on liquidity depth, calculated using a variety of reliable and stress-tested data sources, and credit utilization. This ensures that Mochi offers the most capital-efficient overcollateralized loans to users while maintaining solvency.
Mochi is designed to unlock productivity in a diverse variety of collateral assets, including long-tail, staked, wrapped, and yield-bearing assets, thereby accelerating DeFi innovation. The platform operates autonomously, allowing it to provide governance-free listing of collateral assets and enable collateralization of less liquid tokens with otherwise healthy markets.
Users can leverage listed collateral assets to mint the USDM stablecoin through Mochi Vault smart contracts. The collateral-specific vault parameters are algorithmically defined and updated based on total on-chain liquidity and credit utilization. This ensures that Mochi vaults remain autonomous and able to adjust to changing market conditions.
The USDM stablecoin is soft-pegged to the USD, and Mochi maintains the peg through dedicated and highly capital-efficient stable pegged-asset pools. These pools are fully-backed by overcollateralized vaults, with credit parameters assigned based on total on-chain liquidity and credit utilization.
In summary, Mochi Protocol is a decentralized stablecoin platform that offers collateral-backed stable currency, supported by a diverse range of crypto assets. The protocol operates autonomously and offers governance-free listing of collateral assets, allowing it to unlock productivity in a variety of collateral assets and accelerate DeFi innovation. The USDM stablecoin is soft-pegged to the USD and is maintained by dedicated and highly capital-efficient stable pegged-asset pools.
