Magic Elpis Gem, or MEG, is the utility token for Elpis Battle, a tactical turn-based RPG built on the Binance Smart Chain. The objective of players in Elpis Battle is to conquer various levels in the game using NFT Heroes and earn rewards, including MEGs.

Only players of Elpis Battle are able to mint MEG tokens, which are used for various in-game features such as Recruit, which allows players to create new NFT Heroes from existing ones; Awaken, which increases the strength statistics and level limit of NFT Heroes; and Craft, which enables players to create new NFT Equipment.

When Elpis Battle launched its main-net on February 28, 2022, there were no MEG tokens created at genesis. However, Elpis Battle players who own the Elpis Hero Metaverse NFTs can mint additional MEGs to use for in-game features. 90% of MEG tokens are intended for use in game functions.

The MEG token was created by the same team that developed the Elpis Battle project, ZEGO Studio, which is backed by VCC Holding.

What sets MEG apart is its goal of being a decentralized, stable medium of exchange in the in-game economy. To achieve this, MEG utilizes a mechanism called Elastic Emission to stabilize its price.

In an epoch, if the total amount of MEG earned is 5% less than the total amount of MEG burned, the next epoch will be an Expansion. If the total amount of MEG earned is 5% more than the total amount of MEG burned, the next epoch will be a Contraction. During an Expansion, all in-game MEG rewards are multiplied by 115%. During a Contraction, all in-game MEG rewards are multiplied by 85%. This stabilization mechanism and adaptation to supply and demand helps to keep the price of MEG stable, making it easier for new players to participate in Elpis Battle without facing a high cost barrier.
