What is Lunyr?
Lunyr (LUN) is a decentralized knowledge-based platform built on Ethereum, which rewards its users with app tokens for contributing information and peer-reviewing. Its goal is to provide a reliable and accurate source of information and eventually become the starting point of the internet. However, the platform's long-term vision goes beyond this, as it seeks to develop a knowledge base application programming interface (API) that developers can use to build next-generation decentralized applications (DApps) in artificial intelligence, virtual reality, augmented reality, and more.
The Lunyr API aims to change existing business models and create new ones by offering a set of tools, routines, and protocols that help build software applications. In addition to this, the platform has a strategic advertising system that permits the purchase of advertising using Lunyr token (LUN), the cryptographic token of the Lunyr application. The platform's initial focus is on improving accuracy, increasing content, and growing readership. Ultimately, it aims to become a reliable, accurate decentralized knowledge base worldwide.
The current centralized knowledge-base has issues such as censorship, inaccuracy, and centralization, but Lunyr seeks to solve all these problems. To achieve this, Lunyr has implemented several solutions, including:
Decentralization - The Lunyr platform is built on Ethereum, making it decentralized, autonomous, and censorship-resistant.
Token Incentive System - The Lunyr platform uses app tokens as economic incentives to replace intermediaries.
Mandatory Peer Review - The platform eliminates corruption by ensuring that all submitted content goes through a mandatory peer-review process before being committed to the knowledge base. The LUN reward comes from a pool of LUN that accumulates and is distributed among contributors every two weeks. The initial distribution of LUN is determined through a crowd sale. However, LUN cannot be exchanged for goods or services, and it has no known use cases outside the Lunyr application. Furthermore, LUN does not grant any right to participate in the direction, control, or decision-making of Lunyr.
Arnold Pham, Andrew Tran, and Christopher Smith are the co-founders of Lunyr, with Arnold serving as the CEO. The whitepaper 2.5.0 was launched in July 2017, and the Lunyr team has been working continuously to improve the platform's functionality and features.
In conclusion, Lunyr is an innovative platform that aims to provide reliable and accurate information while also incentivizing users to contribute to its growth. With its long-term vision of developing a knowledge base API, Lunyr seeks to change the existing business models and create new ones. Its decentralized, autonomous, and censorship-resistant platform makes it stand out from other centralized knowledge-based platforms. As Lunyr continues to evolve and improve, it is likely to become a leading platform for decentralized knowledge sharing.
