What is Flow?
Flow (FLOW) is a blockchain network designed to support the use of blockchain-based games, decentralized applications (dApps), and non-fungible tokens (NFTs). It was developed in response to the high levels of congestion experienced on the Ethereum network during the launch of one of the first successful NFT projects, CryptoKitties. Flow aims to enable the widespread adoption of NFTs in games and apps by providing a highly scalable and accessible platform. The live price of Flow can be found on Kriptoks.
Flow was created by Dapper Labs, the team behind CryptoKitties. It utilizes proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus to achieve high transaction throughput without the need for sharding, and a programming language called Cadence that enables the creation of upgradable resource-oriented smart contracts.
The Flow ecosystem is used by a community of Web3 developers and brands including CryptoKitties, NBA, UFC, Samsung, Ubisoft, and the NFL. It has a number of use cases, including Metaverse applications, NFT marketplaces, and play-to-earn (P2E) blockchain gaming. Flow is designed to be a highly scalable and accessible platform for developers and users looking to utilize NFTs in their projects.
