Flamingo, commonly known as FLM, is a decentralized finance (DeFi) platform that allows users to convert and wrap assets, provide liquidity, and earn yield through staking. Wrapping is the process of tying the value of a cryptocurrency to another token or asset, such as stocks, gold, shares, or real estate. This newly minted token can then be used for transactions on other platforms. The Flamingo project was launched by NEO Global Development, the execution arm of the Neo Foundation. The Neo Foundation is an organization that provides a blockchain-based network for digitizing assets and managing them through smart contracts.

Flamingo's litepaper states that the platform has several functions, including Convert, Add and Remove liquidity, and Stake and Unstake tokens. The Convert function is an on-chain Automated Market Maker (AMM) that allows users to swap any token. The Add liquidity feature allows users to provide liquidity to Liquidity Pools (LP). The Stake and Unstake feature allows users to stake their LP tokens for rewards in FLM, the governance token of the Flamingo platform. It also enables users to unstake their LP tokens at any time and still own them, but also to remove liquidity and swap LP tokens back to the corresponding assets.

The Earn module of the Flamingo platform enables users to view the tokens that are available for staking on the platform and check their current staked tokens and their value. The Invest module helps users find projects that are launching their tokens for public sale. The Flamingo token (FLM) is the reward token of the platform, which can be earned by adding liquidity to the liquidity pools. FLM token holders can participate in the governance of the Flamingo platform through voting in a Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO). The Flamingo team aims to provide services such as lending, insurance, and asset management to the platform's users in the future.
