Exceedme (XED) is a blockchain-based platform that offers gamers at all skill levels the opportunity to monetize their skills through play-to-earn functionality. The platform aims to create a skill-based blockchain economy that allows developers and organizers to build competitive game ecosystems for every gamer. The platform's whitepaper states that Exceedme aims to enable the transfer of in-game items between game universes across various blockchains.

Most of the earnings go to a select few ProTournament winners and streamers, and becoming a professional gamer requires a lot of skill and time, with high competition and entry barriers. There is also the issue of siloed game assets, where in-game virtual assets purchased or earned cannot be monetized or transferred. Additionally, predatory publishers, event organizers, and streaming services tend to profit the most.

Exceedme's platform allows all gamers to monetize their skills by staking an amount, and the fund collected goes to the winner. Gamers earn through their bets and receive exclusive NFT prizes for winning tournaments and league events, as well as tokens for their engagement. As a result, Exceedme enables players to bridge monetization in different games with the platform's token and NFTs.

The platform's native token, XED, provides players with access to tournaments, leagues, lower fees, high stakes, and exclusive DeFi opportunities. Furthermore, participants can vote on new features, games, and reward distribution by staking their XED tokens.

Exceedme was launched in January 2021, with Nuno Fernandes and Francisco Varela serving as co-founders of the platform. Nuno has an academic background in economics and previously worked as a manager at PwC and KPMG. He also serves as a strategy advisor for Utrust, a blockchain organization. Francisco is a social entrepreneur who has founded five successful ventures. The team also includes Guilherme Almeida, Rui Teixeira, Nuno Correia, and other prominent members.
