What is Curecoin?

Curecoin (CURE) is a digital token that rewards computing power for distributed computing networks (DCNs), designed to incentivize the donation of computational resources to help solve medical, scientific, and mathematical problems. Utilizing decentralized blockchain technology, Curecoin facilitates the exchange of tokens on its network.

Curecoin's model is based on the proof-of-work (PoW) system, but with a few key differences. An automated distribution system rewards miners who contribute computational power to select DCNs. Additionally, Curecoin utilizes a proof-of-stake (PoS) system to reward users who contribute to the blockchain's security, making it more environmentally friendly.

The native token of Curecoin is $CURE, which has limited theoretical use cases but can be used for general exchange and the exchange of goods or services. By supporting citizen scientists and commercial operators of computer systems, users of Curecoin contribute to the global research network, outsourcing their computing power to researchers and organizations that need it. The combination of PoW and PoS systems secures the blockchain and dedicates 99.9% of electricity consumption towards medical research processing during mining.

Curecoin boasts relatively low operating costs for autonomous blockchain systems, allowing the project to fund and sustain itself.

The concept of Curecoin was developed by Josh Smith in 2013, and the project was launched in May 2014. Smith remains the founder and developer of Curecoin, with Max Sanchez as a senior developer and Jeff Moreland as a developer and community leader. Currently, the core team consists of seven active community members, including two developers.

In summary, Curecoin is a digital token designed to incentivize the donation of computational resources to support medical, scientific, and mathematical research. Its use of PoW and PoS systems secures the blockchain while dedicating most of its electricity consumption towards research processing. The token can be used for general exchange and exchanging goods or services, and Curecoin has relatively low operating costs for autonomous blockchain systems. The project was launched in May 2014 and is developed and supported by a core team of seven community members, including two developers.
