What is Biconomy?
Biconomy (BICO) is a blockchain platform that offers a user-friendly interface for developers to enable simplified decentralized application (Dapp) solutions for end-users. The platform aims to build a simple transaction infrastructure for users who may not be familiar with crypto technology. Biconomy's main focus is on developers and seeks to make the blockchain-enabled, decentralized ecosystem of Web 3.0 as simple as the current version of the internet, Web 2.0. This approach helps to make Dapps more developer-friendly, resulting in more users being able to access and benefit from decentralized applications.
According to the Biconomy whitepaper, the platform anticipates that a mainstream user would find it difficult to understand the technical aspects of a typical blockchain interface, such as calculating gas fees, using crypto wallets, or moving funds between different blockchains. To solve this issue, Biconomy aims to build a Dapp that handles transaction management behind the scenes.
One of Biconomy's signature offerings is the meta-transaction. This allows a third-party, known as a relayer, to perform a transaction on behalf of the user. The user signs a message containing information about the transaction, and the relayer then executes the transaction, including any gas or transaction fees, on the preferred blockchain. This is similar to how users do not pay for the AWS fee for streaming videos on platforms like Netflix. Biconomy aims to solve Dapp's by not charging gas fees for every interaction.
To move funds between different blockchains, Biconomy's protocol enables meta-transactions on a multichain network. The network supports over ten blockchain networks, including Ethereum, xDAI, Binance Smart Chain, and more. The network has an inherently multichain capability that offers users a seamless and decentralized exchange of value and messages. By using a non-custodial, gas-efficient relayer network, Biconomy aims to simplify transactions for both developers and end-users.
